SCOTLAND’S CLIMATE WEEK
HAPPENING THE WEEK OF 26 SEPTEMBER 2022
Scotland’s Climate Week is an annual event to raise awareness of the global climate emergency and encourages climate action across the country. If you’re already planning an event within the week, we would love to hear about it - please let us know using this link.
If you’d like to know more, find out how you can get involved below.
To mark this year’s Climate Week, Scottish Government are asking individuals, businesses and communities up and down the country to put climate change at the top of the conversation list.
The aim is to normalise conversations about climate change, encourage everyone to talk more about its impact and what each of us plan to do to tackle it – only by taking action together will we succeed in becoming a net zero nation by 2045.
Taking part is simple and free and the team have pulled together all the information you need to help get you started. Read about our three key resources below and help spread the word using #ScotClimateWeek.
LET'S TALK ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE
We know that climate change can be a daunting subject, and it can be hard to know where to begin. So, we’re here to help you start conversations with your friends, family, colleagues and peers. Our Climate Conversations Pack has all the information you need on what climate change is, and the ways we can help tackle it in our everyday lives. By starting just one conversation, you can create a ripple effect of actions that help make the change needed.
TOOLKIT FOR BUSINESSES
To reach net zero, it’s essential that climate change prevention is at the top of all businesses’ agendas. Climate Week is the perfect time to start or expand on your sustainability plans and our toolkit can help you get going, with guidance on how you can start a conversation with your staff about climate change, how you can showcase your commitments and plans, how to run a climate change event for your employees and how you can encourage them to take action against climate change both at home and in the workplace.
COMMUNITY RESOURCES
Whether you're an employee, a neighbour, a community group member or just someone wanting to do their bit towards a sustainable future, there are countless ways that you and your community can get involved in Scotland's goal to become a Net Zero nation.
