We cover the Highland, Orkney and Shetland local authority areas. So when we talk about Islands we mean the Northern Isles! If you are in the Western Isles then Climate Hebrides Hub can support you or in the Argyll & Bute Local Authority areas then ABCAN can support.

Membership is free of charge to community organisations and individuals. In 2025 we will be offering business and supporter membership packages.
Membership means that you have access to our members area which has tools, resources and templates to support your organisation. You also receive invites to our Members Networking and other events. Membership also enables access to funding support.

Anyone is able to join the Highlands & Islands Climate Hub as a member and we fully invite individuals to do so. While the majority of our support is aimed at community organisations we are also keen to hear from individuals and carry out regular networking sessions along with consultations to policy work where we would love to hear your voice.

To operate a business in Highland, Orkney or Shetland we firmly believe that makes you part of the community. Our small to medium enterprises are just as much community focused in most regards providing important services as our community based organisations.
However, at the moment we don’t have a mechanism to offer you services or membership. We are very much working on it behind the scenes and looking to evolve what we can offer. Check back in 2025 for further details.

No, membership is free of charge to community organisations and individuals. In 2025 we do plan to launch a tiered membership structure which will be available to businesses and supporters but community based organisations and individuals will still remain free of charge.

The Hub programme is funded by the Scottish Government as part of the current Programme for Government. the Hub programme consists of 24 Climate Hubs across Scotland all led by grassroots organisations and supporting community led climate action. Funding is available through our Climate Action Fund for community organisations. The fund operates on a rolling monthly basis offering awards of up to £500. You do need to be a member to apply for funding. You can find details of the Climate Action Fund here.
We would love to offer more funding in the future to groups however are currently limited within our funding award. Hence we are looking at new ways to bring in additional funds to disperse to communities through offering training and services to the business community and investigating philanthropic donations and funding.
