The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub supports a rich and collaborative network of people and communities within the Highlands & Islands who are, or want to take action to combat the climate emergency. Our goal is to encourage this action via community led climate mitigation and adaptation activities, project and initiatives.

Our Membership will work collaboratively sharing skills, resources, ideas and ambitions to create sustainable, climate friendly, resilient communities throughout the Highland, Orkney & Shetland Council areas.

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by Guarantee in April 2022 following a successful six month pathfinder phase where Thurso Community Development Trust were the sole operators of the Hub.

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub is now warmly accepting membership applications from those who support the vision, principles and aims of the Hub.

Who can be a member?

Any community-led organisation, non-profit, voluntary group, social enterprise, individual or business within the Highlands & Islands who support the vision, principles and aims of the Highlands & Islands Climate Hub can join as a member. There are various membership options below.

In addition, any of those organisations or individuals based in the Highland, Orkney or Shetland council region can join as a CiC member. CiC membership is particularly important so that we can ensure the Hub is shaped by the needs of communities. We would love to have even representation from the Highland, Orkney & Shetland council areas within the CiC membership.
