Join the Scottish Government on Monday 26 September, the opening day of Scotland's Climate Week, as we explore some of the different ways in which communities can encourage climate action and participation in a local setting.

Chaired by Professor Dave Reay, and with opening comments from Patrick Harvie MSP, in this event you will hear from members of Scotland's Climate Assembly speaking about how they have championed climate action locally since the Assembly's conclusion. Dr Oliver Escobar will introduce participative processes, including some of the benefits and practical tips for communities.

The event will also launch and provide an introduction to the Place Standard Tool with a Climate Lens by the project partners. Good place-making is essential for designing a robust local response to the climate emergency, such as taking local action to cut emissions and to increase resilience to local climate change impacts. The Climate Lens will help stakeholders to consider how climate change will play out in a local area. It will inspire locally-appropriate climate action, while also delivering health and wellbeing, social, economic and environmental benefits.

So, Scotland, let's talk climate!
