The Moray Firth Coastal Partnership Documentary launch night

I was delighted to have recently contributed and subsequently been invited to the launch of the Moray Firth Coastal Partnership (MFCP) film 'Climate Change in the Moray Firth'.

The film was created, filmed and edited by Drew Ferguson, a Project Co-Ordinator for MFCP and friend of ours here at the Hub. The film covers the potential impacts of climate change around the Moray Firth, as well as looking at the adaptation and mitigation efforts ongoing across Highland, Moray and Aberdeenshire. At the beginning of 2023, I had contributed to the film, telling the positive action that communities throughout the Highland area are taking part in including Highland Adapts and the Highland Community Waste Partnership aswell as our many members.

The launch screening took place at Eden Court on Thursday 29th June and I was also invited to be on a panel alongside Ben Leyshon from Nature Scot and George Gunn, Climate Change Co-Ordinator at Moray Council. A really interested and engaged audience enjoyed the film to good reviews and raised important points to the panel including the impacts of industrial work around the new Green Free Port on marine life, how we address inequalities in our communities through climate action and how we educate the younger generation around the type of green jobs and work that might be available in the future.
