Introduction:

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub is funded by the Scottish Government and has the purpose of supporting community-led climate action across the region. The Hub is part of a network of 24 Climate Action Hubs across Scotland, which support communities to make a just transition towards net zero and support a climate-ready Scotland.

Our Youth Climate Network (YCN) is a youth-led network for young people aged 16-30 across Highland, Orkney and Shetland. The YCN supports, connects and amplifies young people so they can meaningfully participate in climate action, connect with community groups and organisations, and build skills to enter a sustainable career.

The Youth Climate Network is guided by our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) to remain aligned with the needs and priorities of young people across the region.

The Project:

We are seeking a logo suite and associated branding for the Youth Climate Network, to be used for digital and print purposes. The logo should be distinctive and recognisable, while clearly sitting within the wider Highlands & Islands Climate Hub branding.

The YAB have completed a branding workshop, through which they identified the following design elements to consider:

  • Simple linework or illustrations

  • Concept of hands: reaching, holding, showing, helping or forming the future

  • They liked the look of the logos for H&I Climate Hub and Young Sea Changers Scotland

  • The youth-led element of the network should be clearly identifiable.
