Rural and remote social enterprises

An online event from Social Enterprise Scotland

Our rural and remote social enterprises are a Scottish success story.

According to the Social Enterprise Census 2019, a big 33% of all Scottish social enterprises are located in rural Scotland.

Lewis and Uist, for example, were recognised by the Social Enterprise Places programme as hotspots for social enterprise activity.

But what is the current state of our rural and remote social enterprises? What are their needs in terms of business support, funding and other forms of support? What else can we do to drive their further development?

We'll be joined by Brian Weaver of Impact Hub Inverness, Jo Crawford from Glenelg Ferry and Donald John MacSween of Point and Sandwick Trust - join us to learn more and share your own views and experiences.
