Hub Gathering - Easter Ross

  • Averon Centre High Street Alness, Scotland, IV17 0QB United Kingdom (map)

Take the chance to network, get involved, collaborate, share ideas and get energised about taking climate action locally!

Join the Easter Ross gathering of the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub! A chance to meet members in the area and hear from others about their climate action projects. This event is free and is open to both hub members and non-members who are interested in finding out both more about the hub and more about local climate action community projects.
The theme is Get Energised! It is an informal session, with a focus on hearing from local projects both what's currently happening and what your ideas for the future are. We are keen to hear about your successes and also where you might like more support.

If you would like to bring display materials, leaflets or other resources along to show, please do so - we'd love to see your work. Let Sheila know in advance, so we can make space available.

Sheila, the Community Development Officer for Easter Ross will be hosting the session. It will be based in the downstairs lounge in the Averon centre, but depending on the weather there may be a short led-walk, so please come with suitable outdoor shoes and coat! If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we can take this into account.

The session will involve an introduction to the Hub, to explain the Hub's role, what support is currently available and what to expect in the future. There will follow a facilitated discussion and some opportunities to get to meet people from other organisations and share learning.

The Hub is collaborating with Highlife Highland who will be hosting a Ranger event in the Library as part of their series of Climate events in community libraries around the Highlands. For those who wish to stay, there is the opportunity to join in the Ranger's Terrarium workshop in the library, which will involve a Climate Conversation while crafting together from reused materials.

There will be a separate booking for this to follow shortly. The session is free, but booking is essential, as spaces are limited. This event is supported by Scottish Libraries Information Council #ShelfLife fund
