Bethany Lawrie
Senior Project Officer

Bethany is one of the Hub’s development officers based in Inverness. Bethany grew up in Thurso and lived in the community until 2019 when she moved to Inverness.

She is a 3rd year student at the University of the Highlands & Islands studying towards a Bachelors of Science in Sustainable Development. A lot of her learning at University is about rural communities, community empowerment and climate change.

Bethany is interested in community based development and how to use climate action as a way to reduce inequalities in rural communities and ensure we reach a just transition.

Within the Hub Team, Bethany has the lead role in funding and publishes our regular funding finder. She works on the larger projects such as the Highland Climate Conference, Carbon Literacy training and researches opportunities and resources for communities and for the Hub.

Bethany welcomed a wee boy, Frankie in June of 2023 and has recently returned to us from her maternity leave.
