Community Climate Action Plans
On Thursday evening of last week we attended an event held by Keep Scotland Beautiful giving background to the Community Climate Action Plans project they are currently running. You can view a recording of the conversation by clicking on that link and find out more about making an application there, but be quick, applications close on Friday 12th November.
Community Climate Action Plans are unique to the needs and the wants of a community. Supported by Keep Scotland Beautiful an independent facilitator would help your community to come together and create an action plan with your community. The event on Thursday evening featured two communities who have already been supported to do this work. Sustainable Kirriemuir and Sustainable Tayvallich both very different communities of size and priorities. What comes through very clearly from both who have been supported is that a momentum and movement towards climate action has been created in each community.
Applications are open until Friday 12th November. The application process is very simple and straightforward and you can find it on the link above for Community Climate Action Plans. You would need to commit to your community taking part in around 7 online sessions of around 1.5 hours each with some work activities in between to support the creation of the plan.
