Lesson 5: Greenhouse Gases
Now we know what the greenhouse gases are, let’s take a look at where they come from
Fun facts:
Cows passing wind are commonly blamed for releasing all that terrible methane – but actually it’s their burps that release the vast majority of methane. A single cow can produce 200–500 litres of methane daily. The estimated 1.5 billion cattle globally make them a major source of agricultural methane.
Those little bubbles in your Nike Air Max trainers? Those are filled with F-Gases. Mad!
The world's oceans absorb roughly 30% of the emitted CO2 into the atmosphere.
N2O is known as laughing gas in medical settings (dentistry/surgeries) for its euphoric effects, its climate impact is "no joke," contributing significantly to global warming.
